Photo art showing two flowers on a Star of Bethlehem wildflower or Ornithogalum Umbellatum. These plants are tiny, with the leaves much smaller and insignificant compared to the beautiful flowers. As you can see, they have six white petals and a beautiful yellow centre. They grow in grassy meadows or, as in this case, in verges. From an isolated few plants many years ago, there are colonies of these plants near where I live. They flower early, preceding a lot of other flowers and before the grass really starts growing, so they provide a glorious early display. What a great name for this striking flower!
