About the artwork

The Eisenbahnbrücke or Elbbrücke at Dömitz in Germany
The Elbbrücke near Dömitz in Germany was a 986-meter-long railroad bridge over the Elbe River and was one of the longest river bridges in Germany. The partially demolished structure is located near the town of Dömitz on the Elbe River and was part of the railroad line from Wittenberge to Lüneburg. The part that spanned the waters of the Elbe River was demolished in the late 1980s. Restoration work is now underway (2022) to preserve the existing part of the bridge.
This photo was taken from below so that the steel structure, the skeleton of the bridge, stands out beautifully against the blue, summer sky.
