"Still life: A hydrangea leaf" is a macro photo of a simple hydrangea leaf on a mirrored surface. This hydrangea leaf (which is attached to three more leaves held together by a twig) has already been nicely dried by the sun, so the grain structure can be seen very nicely. Because the leaf lies on a mirrored surface, you can see the other side of the leaves in the reflection in the ground surface as well, only more blurred / abstract.
Because I chose a small depth of field when taking the photo, only part of the front leaf is in focus. The further you look back from here ( and forward), the more the sharpness gradually decreases. This gives a quiet, dreamy atmosphere to the work. It also simultaneously creates a sense of depth in the work. (If you zoom in on the photo, you can see this). I pulled back the colours a little, giving it a calm atmosphere. Beige, taupe and cream are the main colours in this work. This gives it a rural feel.
This work could, for example, hang beautifully as wall decoration in the bedroom, dining room or just above the sofa! (Obviously also beautiful in business locations such as on the wall in a meeting room, office, waiting room or practice room!)
