Still life, vertical photograph, of a so-called glass nail ball containing a sprig of white flowering foxglove on a grey-green table with blue grapes and a rosé pearl necklace in the foreground. With the landscape of the river Maas near MarenKessel in North Brabant in the background.
The light concentrates on the foreground.
In the background, you can see the Maas with trees and bushes and also the cloudy sky at the time.
The still life looks intimate and the composition is strong.
The use of colour is subdued and exciting. The main colours are grey green blue with the white of the foxglove in the leading role.
For the landscape, as I often do, I went out to the beautiful places I now know in my surroundings. I photographed the still life in the foreground with natural light coming from a skylight. This gives the scene its intimate atmosphere.
The nail ball always gives exciting light and surprising colours....
