About ‘Stonehenge’ by Ray63

Stonehenge, located in the English county of Wiltshire, is a prehistoric monument consisting of a ring of upright stones, called menhirs, topped with horizontal capstones, the lintels. The construction of this iconic structure took place in several stages, starting around 3100 BC and continuing until around 1600 BC. The famous circle of large sandstones, the sarsens, was placed between 2600 and 2400 BC. The surrounding circular earthen wall and moat, the earliest phase of the monument, date from around 3100 BC. Although the exact function of Stonehenge remains uncertain, archaeological finds and astronomical alignments suggest that it was a ceremonial site, possibly related to funerals, religious rituals or the observation of celestial phenomena, such as the solstices.

Born in 1963. When I was young I really liked drawing with pencil. Left it alone for a long time, but since 2015 I picked up drawing again. Working with dry drawing techniques I like very much. Especially working with charcoal has my big preference. Easy to steer, immediate results and you can work a bit more coarse, which contributes to the lively organic expression.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
