About ‘Summer walk through the countryside’ by Wietske Westra

This piece was created during a walk along the Pieterpad, on a day when everything felt light and open.

The path draws you into the landscape, past greenery in full bloom and a sky that is constantly shifting. I used chalk to try and capture that feeling of being on the move. Not just the place, but above all the moment: not having to do anything for a while, just following where the path leads. This work is part of my summer series, in which I collect moments of space, movement and light.
