Sun, Sand and Imagination by INGO

Bring the timeless magic of an endless summer’s day into your home with this atmospheric piece of art. The sculpture depicts a young beachgoer, deeply concentrated, building a monumental, ingenious sandcastle. Dressed in a pale blue shirt and a straw hat, the child embodies the pure innocence and rich imagination of youth. In the background, the calm sea laps gently, whilst a solitary sailing boat glides past on the horizon. The beach toys in the foreground evoke the tangible reality of a wonderful day’s holiday. A beautiful, nostalgic work that evokes tranquillity, wonder and warm memories.

This work is executed in a classic watercolour style. Characteristic of this technique are the soft, transparent colour transitions and the flowing washes, beautifully evident in the dreamy, cloud-filled sky and the sea. At the same time, the work features fine, detailed brushstrokes in the sandcastle and the child’s anatomy. The colour palette is harmoniously composed of warm earth tones (ochre, sepia and sandy yellow), which contrast perfectly with the cool, fresh shades of blue in the clothing and the water.

As this is a watercolour, the artist believes that materials which enhance the texture of the paper or create a matt, soft finish are best suited:
* Art Frame.
* Fine-art framed photo paper (including mat).
* Canvas.

This artwork is versatile, but really comes into its own in the following interior styles:
* Scandinavian & Japandi
* Modern Country / Coastal (Maritime)
