Sunflowers across the fields

by Christian Ovís

‘Sunflowers Across the Fields’ depicts a field full of yellow flowers beneath a vast blue sky. In the foreground stand large sunflowers with brown centres, curved stems and broad green leaves. Behind them, a dense carpet of smaller flowers stretches all the way to a low horizon. A group of dark trees on the left interrupts the long yellow strip. White and pale yellow clouds bring light to the sky.

The composition emphasises the flowers in the foreground. Their varying directions and heights give the field a natural rhythm. Dark shadows amongst the leaves create depth, whilst the bright petals stand out. Broad, loose brushstrokes remain visible in the greenery and the clouds. The transition from a detailed foreground to a simpler background lends the field a sense of space. Yellow and green combine to create a powerful, sunny interplay of colours.

This sunflower wall decoration is ideal for a living room, dining room or kitchen with warm, natural tones. The yellow pairs well with cream and wood; the darker green complements plants and green accessories. Against a plain wall, the flowers become a clear focal point. From a distance, the golden blooms dominate. Up close, the flower centres, curved leaves and patches of light on the earth become visible.
