The beauty of a 24 hour race is that you get every moment of the day, with corresponding light conditions, during the race. Most moments of the day can be practiced during one of the training sessions, except for the morning with sunrise. This moment only occurs during the race and is therefore my favorite moment.
In this photo the background is made up of different layers. You can see the woods right next to the circuit, a little bit behind that and in different light you can see the trees along the Hunaudieres. The long straight towards Mulsanne, which is further on the circuit. Even further in the background, and again lit differently, you see the woods and hills where the circuit is located.
Apart from the sun, there are some clouds in the sky, clouds that would soon change into thick fog. But this moment in the golden hour I took anyway.
