They are a little over halfway through the 24 hour race when the sun rises again. It's the only time of the entire race weekend that they are driven in this light.
For the drivers a very difficult moment during the race, the low sun ensures that visibility is poor. As a photographer, I think this is the most beautiful moment of the race. The morning light is with every subject beautiful light to photograph in. What makes it extra special is that there has already been over 15 races. The cars come all the way to life because they have gotten dirty or suffered some minor damage along the way. You can clearly see that this car is not from a museum, but has been doing what it was built for over half a day: racing.
