About ‘Sunrise in the creek’ by Sam Mannaerts

This photo was taken in the nature reserve of the Polders of Kruibeke. The reflection of the trees together with the colours created by the sunrise make it a quiet image to look at.

In the Waasland, on the territory of Kruibeke, Basel and Rupelmonde, lies Flanders' largest flood plain: the Polders of Kruibeke. On its own, this controlled flood area makes Flanders five times safer. 600 hectares of these polders have been transformed into a unique nature reserve: a walhalla for walkers and cyclists and a boost for the local hospitality industry and entrepreneurs.
