Right in the heart of Overijssel, between Ommen and Den Ham, lies Eerde Estate. Here you will enjoy a harmonious mix of nature and culture. Not only is the nature beautiful, but also the buildings you encounter are worth a walk. The most striking building on the estate is Eerde Castle. Built in 1715 by the wealthy army captain Johan Werner van Pallandt, the castle is the showpiece of the estate. During your adventures around the estate, you will encounter monumental farms and arable land. Other walking routes take you along the Regge river, the burial vault of the Van Pallandt family and much more.
This photo was taken during a morning walk on Eerde estate in Twente. As the sun crept higher and higher, it was quiet and peaceful on a summer Sunday morning. I strolled across the estate and followed the green network arrows for the 11-kilometre walking route.
