The Eempolder is a nature reserve near Soest in the province of Utrecht.
This peat meadow area lies along the river Eem and stretches on the east side from the Amersfoort district of Hoogland to the Eemmeer near Bunschoten. On the west side it is bordered by the railway line between Soest and Baarn and then to the north along Eemnes to the Eemmeer. The Eempolder consists of several small polders such as Middelwijk, De Haar, Zeldert, Bikkerspolder, Zuiderpolder in Veld, Noordpolder in Veld, Maatpolder and Noordpolder. The province of Utrecht is partly owner, the rest is private. The polder is below sea level. The management is done by water board Vallei and Eem. This weighs up the interests of agriculture, forestry, cities and industry against those of nature, cultural history, recreation and fisheries.
