On a trip from Lake Constance to Königssee, I spent an evening at the beautiful Chiemsee.
The Bavarian Sea on the edge of the Alps is a wonderful place to linger.
After the midday heat, people came to the lakeshore in the evening to end the day with pleasure.
The sun was getting lower and lower and the evening glow was becoming more and more intense.
I looked for a nice spot on the shore to photograph the marvellous sunset.
Waves ripple in the evening breeze, grasses stand in the water on the shore before the shady forest borders the water.
You can see the sun glowing red before it sinks behind the forest. The water now has a metallic lustre in various shades of orange, resembling the firmament.
The picture radiates an incredible calm and shines with its warm, strong colours.
It makes you want to jump into the water for a swim and cool off.
I have certainly photographed many sunsets, but this is one of the most beautiful.
There are no distracting elements and you focus entirely on the sunset.
