Venice
What images come to mind?
I was looking for the mysterious, quiet and old Venice.
That's why I travelled to Venice in winter.
In winter, the city is often covered in fog and it's cold.
As you can see in the picture here.
At first glance, you wouldn't associate it with Venice.
It's more reminiscent of a lost place.
Well, it was taken on the island of Lido, where the film festival takes place in summer.
A crumbling path leads along a murazzi towards the sea before it suddenly breaks off. An old bridge pier stands in the sea some distance away. The sea mist in the background isolates the view of the buildings.
Murazzi are fortifications to protect the lagoon from erosion.
The perspective of the photograph conveys a visual view into the depths.
The image conveys the impression of transience, as nothing is built to last forever.
Sometimes, however, you suddenly find yourself standing in front of the abyss, or, as here, in front of the sea.
Nature is my passion and I want to share it with other people through my pictures. Whenever possible, I go out into nature with my camera.
