About ‘Sunset at Mont Saint Michel’ by Peter van der Waard

Mont Saint-Michel is a small, rocky tidal island in Normandy, France located in a large bay at the mouth of the Couesnon River.
The granite massif of Mont Saint-Michel is crowned by a medieval abbey. On the spire of the abbey church, a statue of Saint Michael has stood since 1898, rising one hundred and seventy meters above the bay. The island is located about 1 kilometer off the coast near the town of Avranches in Normandy.
It was originally a tidal island: it was accessible by land at low tide, but at high tide it was surrounded by water. Today a narrow bridge, with shuttle service, runs to the island.
Mont Saint-Michel, with its staircase streets, is accessible only to pedestrians.

This photo was taken "from the clay" during a beautiful sunset on an evening when Sahara sand colored the sky a beautiful red.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
