A beautiful sunset over the Reeuwijkse Plassen.
The Reeuwijkse Plassen is a nature reserve located halfway between Rotterdam and Utrecht, just east of Gouda and south of Bodegraven. The nature reserve is known for its large excavated lakes. Part of these were dug out to create the Plaswijck district in Gouda.
Since this area is practically in our backyard we often go there to walk and enjoy the wide views. The sound of singing birds and rippling water provide the necessary relaxation.
Because of the little roads around the lakes, it is also a very photogenic environment. Both sunrise and sunset can be beautifully captured here, just like in this picture.
Because I used a gray filter in combination with a slower shutter speed, the water looks almost like a mirror. A few small waves and the bushes betray that this is not the case.
