Sunset in Corfu, Greece

by Martijn van Dellen

Bring the magical, carefree atmosphere of a Greek summer evening into your home with this breathtaking coastal landscape. This image captures the characteristic wooden jetty in the idyllic fishing village of Roda on the sunny island of Corfu, at the very moment when night is falling. The pier’s sturdy railing naturally draws your gaze deep into the serene sea. What makes this piece truly unique are the subtle details: the classic, rounded lampposts awaiting the night, and the distant mountains on the horizon softly silhouetted against the sky. This piece was created during a journey along the north coast of Corfu. Inspired by the pure, unfiltered grandeur of Mediterranean nature, this image was captured to immortalise the fleeting transition of a Greek sunset. The sky is a living canvas of warm orange and deep red hues that contrast with the cool, soothing blue of the approaching twilight and the gently rolling waves.
This photograph brings a unique atmosphere into your home: it combines the warm, cosy feeling of a sizzling summer evening with the refreshing coolness of the sea. It exudes a deep sense of tranquillity and a feeling of infinity—a reminder of distant travels or a dreamlike image to lose yourself in.
