The Cruz de Tejeda lies at an altitude of 1490 metres inland, a few kilometres beyond the town of Tejeda. The point gets its name from the beautiful historical cross that stands there. From the peaks of Cruz de Tejeda, you have great views of the north side of the island and of the iconic Roque Nublo located on the south side and visible from almost all directions. However, Cruz de Tejeda draws its greatest fame from the Parador de Tejeda. This former state hotel is one of the few in the beautiful interior and, like all other paradors, offers luxury service in an excellent location in a beautiful historical setting in overwhelming nature. Cruz de Tejada is an ideal base to discover the unknown Gran Canaria, lavish nature on the ancient volcanic mountain sides, small villages clinging to the walls, roads elegantly following the possibilities of the mountains embedded in greenery, regular views on the horizon of the Atlantic Ocean.
