On a quiet evening in August, the sun is slowly setting. Behind me, several people are fishing. In front of me is a jetty of a local oyster fishing company. it is quiet, today they are not active.
I am on the west coast of Sweden, just above Gothenburg. The nearest village is Grebbestad. The coastline here is beautiful. I am in a bay, where the locals have their boats. It has been blowing hard the past few days; tonight, for the first time, there is almost no wind.
And as the sun sinks below the horizon, I take a picture of the jetty. I use an ND filter, which allows me to use slower shutter speeds without overexposing. This makes the sea flatter and calmer.
In post-processing, I did little. It is important for me to use my photos to convey how I experienced the atmosphere at that moment.
I have over 15 years of experience as a photographer, both in real estate and landscape photography. I now live in Sweden and have a great love for photography in the Nordic countries.
