The Supermarine Spitfire was a British fighter aircraft. The aircraft was put into production in 1938 by Supermarine Division, Vickers Armstrong Ltd. The aircraft was used throughout World War II by the Allies, mainly by the Royal Air Force. A total of 20,340 were built.
The aircraft in the picture has "clipped" wings instead of elliptical wings so the aircraft was more manoeuvrable at lower altitudes.
This photo was taken on 18 May 2024 during the airshow at Aérodrome de Cerny - La Ferté-Alais.
