Supermarine Spitfire PR.XIX PS890 (F-AZJS).
The Supermarine Spitfire was a British fighter aircraft. The aircraft was put into production in 1938 by Supermarine Division, Vickers Armstrong Ltd. The aircraft was used throughout World War II by the Allies, mainly by the Royal Air Force. A total of 20,340 were built. There also existed the variant Seafire, of which 2,594 were built.
The Spitfire stands out for its streamline and elliptical wings. The Mk. XIV version reached a maximum speed of 721 kilometers per hour at an altitude of 8 kilometers. The aircraft is best known for the important role it played during the Battle of Britain in 1940.
