This unusual black-and-white photograph shows a pool in the middle of the forest. The tall trees in the background reach for a dramatic, almost menacing sky. The infrared light shows nature in a different way than we are used to.
Infrared photography captures light that we cannot see with the naked eye. As a result, leaves become lighter because they reflect the infrared light. This gives the landscape a dreamy, almost otherworldly atmosphere. Choosing black and white makes the atmosphere even stronger: the play of light and shadow, of stillness and depth.
With my work, I want to show that there is more than what we normally perceive. This picture invites you to stand still, look differently and marvel at the hidden layers of nature.
