Takeuchi Seiho (1864-1942) was an important Japanese painter of the Meiji and Taishō eras, known for his Nihonga art, which combined traditional Japanese painting with modern influences. He was particularly skilful in the depiction of birds. After travelling to Europe, he also integrated Western techniques into his works. As director of the art academy in Kyōto, he made a significant contribution to the development of traditional Japanese art in the 20th century.
