Temple of Concordia in Sicily in the famous Valley of the Temples near the town of Agrigento.
This valley is the largest archaeological site in the world with its 1,300 hectares and consists of the remains from the Greek, Roman and early Christian periods with mosaics, extensive underground aqueducts and majestic Doric temples
It was founded in AD 600 as a Greek colony.
The park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
My inspiration to visit this beautiful area in Sicily arose after reading a historical novel about the ancient Greek politician and army commander Alcabiades, written by a Dutch writer.
This piqued my curiosity and I decided to visit the places discussed in the book.
It was an impressive visit. This photo is a fond memory of it.
