About the artwork

A figurative work of black thread, charcoal & acrylic on canvas,
My textile works can be described as figurative with a touch of realism in mixed media. The works are characterised by an emotional charge and raise questions. During the process, elements of alienation arise which are added or left out of the work. Recurring themes are female figures, sensuality, strength and vulnerability in which the structure of various materials comes into its own. Graduated in Monumental Design from the Academy of Fine Arts (Maastricht Institute of Arts) and opened Atelier-Galerie MIM in a historic building in 2017.

The black thread plays the main role in my works, inspired by the moments of life, I hope to give the viewer a moment or feeling of recognition, an inner experience, something that makes you wander into your own thoughts. My loose threads represent growth & change. These move with heat & wind & can be laid on the canvas according to your own feelings. I love pure, matter & texture.
