Brocken railway station is located at the summit of the Brocken in the Harz Mountains in Saxony-Anhalt. It is the terminus of the Brocken railway operated by the Harz narrow-gauge railways.
The Brockenbahn is a metre-gauge railway line of the Harz narrow-gauge railways that is mainly used for tourism. It runs from Wernigerode via Drei Annen Hohne on the Harz transverse railway via Schierke to the Brocken.
At 1142 metres above sea level, the Brocken is the highest mountain in the Harz low mountain range, in Saxony-Anhalt and in the whole of northern Germany. It is located in the Schierke district of the town of Wernigerode in the Harz district of Saxony-Anhalt.
