Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

About ‘The Dark Bang’ by Virginia Bear

This painting tells the story of a relationship that faced exceptionally great challenges. It is a work about vulnerability, perseverance and the power of love to endure even in the darkest of times. In the upper part of the painting, the dark moment is depicted as a bursting black cloud. It symbolises a difficult period that spanned more than two years – a time full of doubt, pain and uncertainty. At the same time, it represents the many conversations that had to be had, the honest confrontation with hurt, and the painstaking rebuilding of trust. Yet the black cloud does not dominate the picture. It breaks apart, loses its power and reveals a bright, welcoming setting. Warm tones and delicate pink accents run through the composition, lending it a sense of lightness, hope and security. The pink symbolises affection, compassion and the love that, despite all the challenges, was never entirely lost.

The work reveals that true love does not mean the absence of crises, but the decision to face them together. The breaking cloud with its white hues thus becomes a symbol of a new beginning – not because the past has been forgotten, but because it has been worked through and overcome together.
