This unique image was created during an unforgettable sailing trip through Scoresby Sound in Greenland. As I sailed through the tranquil fjords, I was captivated by the perfect geometry that nature displays here. The inspiration for this work is the fascinating repetition of shapes and lines, which lends an almost meditative layering to the landscape. What immediately catches the eye and makes this work so intriguing is how the different layers blend seamlessly into one another. Centrally positioned in the foreground floats an imposing, bright-white iceberg, the summit of which forms a distinct V-shape. On closer inspection, one discovers that this geometric pattern is repeated in the background: the dark, sharp contours of the mountains directly behind the ice form exactly the same V-shape, which is then reflected once more by the gigantic, snow-filled mountain pass behind them. A subtle detail is the light mist that floats like a soft veil between the layers of rock, accentuating the depth. To me, this image exudes pure, unconditional tranquillity. The symmetry and harmony in the landscape radiate a cool and serene feeling, as if everything in this place is exactly as it is meant to be. It conveys a message of balance and tranquillity. Stunning in an interior: This artwork brings a deep, minimalist sense of tranquillity to any space. Thanks to its repeating forms and layered composition, the piece has a strong compositional balance that fits perfectly within a modern, Scandinavian or minimalist interior. The cool palette of polar blue, bright white and the deep, natural grey tones of the rocks brings a sense of vastness and fresh air to the wall. A subtle yet powerful eye-catcher for the living room, bedroom or an office where a calm and inspiring atmosphere is desired.
The earth is art, the photographer is only a witness. This is my mindset when I take my photos. Conditions must be right before I take a picture. Through my work I try to make it possible that you can place a piece of art from the earth in your living room.
