An exact depiction of the original painting Vincent van Gogh's flowering orchard from 1888.
I spent a lot of time creating this image in beautiful realistic fresh colours as I think Vincent van Gogh intended it to be.
The painting was made during Vincent van Gogh's time in Arles, France.
With the arrival of spring in Arles in 1888, Vincent van Gogh became 'in a frenzy of work'. As he wrote to his brother Theo, 'the trees are in bloom and I would like to build a provincial orchard with great cheer'. Between the end of March and the end of April, the artist devoted fourteen canvases to the subject, in various sizes and styles. This composition, dominated by the angular, elongated branches of the budding trees, testifies to admiration for Japanese prints. His depiction of the scythe and rake makes this one of only two tree-grade paintings that indicate a human presence.
This image is available in different sizes and on different materials.
