Tips for use

About ‘The Historic Grimsel Hospiz Alpine Hotel’ by Edwin Kooren

...shows the Historisches Alpinhotel Grimsel Hospiz, situated on the rocky headland of Grimselnollen near the Grimsel Pass in the Swiss Alps (Canton of Bern). The photograph shows the historic hotel complex and the surrounding impressive granite cliffs. The complex overlooks the Grimselsee, a large reservoir. In 1932, the Grimsel Hospiz was the first electrically heated hotel in Europe and has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages, when it already served as an inn for travellers and traders crossing the mountain pass.
