The works are characterised by an emotional charge and raise questions. During the process, elements of alienation arise which are added or omitted to the work. Recurring themes are female figures, sensuality, strength and vulnerability, in which the structure of various materials comes into its own.
"The black thread plays the leading role in my works, inspired by the moments of life, I hope to give the viewer a moment or feeling of recognition, an inner experience, something that makes you wander into your own thoughts. My loose threads represent growth & change".
Kim Rijntjes , graduated in Monumental Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht.
