The Lanin volcano is a giant, rising 2800 metres from Lake Huechulafquen, and seeing it from here is a magnificent experience.
You could almost think it was active, lava is coming out of its right side, flowing down the mountainside and causing smoke, but to reassure you, the volcano is not active and what you see here are just clouds. But it is precisely these clouds against the light, together with the reflections on the lake, that give the picture a strong expression.
Every trip to Patagonia is an experience.
