About ‘The Line’ by Glanzodermatt by Roger Odermatt

Taken in Brighton, England, this picture shows two people walking quietly along the beach while a stormy sea looms in the background. A clear line in the picture separates the two figures and at the same time acts as a mirror that subtly reflects their movement and relationship to each other.

I use street and travel photography to capture everyday life on the move - in alleyways, squares, trains and cafés, wherever people leave their mark. I am particularly interested in lighting moods, graphic structures and quiet observations away from the typical postcard motifs. I want my series for Art Heroes to look like short breaks: Pictures in which you can linger for a moment, sense an atmosphere and perhaps read your own story into them.
