About ‘The Modern Medusa’ by Erwin Lustig

The Modern Medusa is a contemporary, surreal interpretation of one of the most famous women in Greek mythology. Medusa was once a beautiful woman, but jealousy transformed her into a monster with twisting snakes for hair. Anyone who looked directly into her eyes was said to turn to stone. In this artwork, however, Medusa takes on a new meaning: she represents the powerful and fearless woman of today, who continues to embrace her strength despite envy and expectations.

We see an elegant woman wearing a large black hat, with a striking purple snake resting on top. A second snake playfully winds around her shoulder and body. The combination of snakes, flowers and fashion creates a mysterious, almost magical atmosphere. Around her are purple orchids, pink flowers, roses and blossoms, beautifully contrasting with the deep black background. Her striking pink lips and the mauve, purple and pink tones add a vibrant and elegant accent.

The atmosphere is mysterious, alluring and powerful, yet refined. The artwork explores female empowerment, beauty, courage and the importance of not allowing yourself to be diminished by the gaze of others.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
