About ‘The World is Losing Colour – Part 3’ by Erwin Lustig
The slow decay of nature is also central to the final part of the triptych. In this work, you can see that the roses are slowly wilting and the macaw is beginning to lose its colour. The roses symbolise the macaw’s health; it is doing everything it can to survive by keeping the healthy roses close to it.
