Rotterdam in a foggy glow. For days, the city shrouds itself in grey, while the iconic Erasmus Bridge almost disappears in the dense haze. Everything seems quieter, softer, as if the city breathes for a moment and retreats into a world of mystery. The mist lends its own charm to the everyday; lines blur, borders disappear, and even the familiar skyline seems new and unfamiliar. A moment when Rotterdam shows that even in the grey, there is beauty to be found.

I am Bob van den Berg, born in Rotterdam and living with his family in Capelle aan den IJssel for several years now. I earn my bread and butter as a buyer at the Ministry of Defense in Utrecht. After a long period of working with video, I decided a few years ago to start with photography. I must say it is an addiction. In the evenings I followed various courses in photography at the SKVR (Beeldfabriek) in Rotterdam.
