In my hometown Tolbert, the thickest pack of snow in the Netherlands fell, it was very localised. It made me feel like I had landed in Narnia. It was lovely outside when the big snow shower had stopped. The air tingled in my nose, the snow crunched under my boots, otherwise it was dead quiet. In the distance, I saw another one's lone hiker, barely visible because it was still lightly snowing.
This photo exactly captures my feeling of that moment, I was glad I had my camera with me and could capture this moment. Peace, space, stillness, alone with myself, my thoughts and everything my senses allowed me to experience.
We don't often have a winter with snow anymore. So this was a special opportunity to be able to take this photo. For the older people a reminder of what winters used to be like, for the younger generations an image of what the Netherlands used to look like in winter often. For everyone a picture to dream away.
