About "The Old Man of Storr (Isle of Skye)"

About the artwork

Isle of Skye is one of the largest and best-known islands of the Hebrides, a group of approximately 500 islands off the west coast of Scotland (about 100 of which are inhabited). The island is known for its beautiful nature, history and wildlife.

A highlight in that nature is 'The Old Man of Storr'. The Storr is a rocky hillside on the Trotternish Peninsula, created by a large-scale post-glacial landslide. On that hill you will find The Old Man, a large rock pillar of about 50 meters high that can be seen from afar. The story goes that the name 'Old Man' comes from the contours of this rock pillar, which are said to resemble an old man.

You can walk to the Old Man of Storr, which is an intensive hike. At least, that's what it was for us, because we walked up in a motorcycle suit and with motorcycle boots (not recommended, please use walking shoes). But yes, the place is very impressive. And once at the top you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape of hills, rocks, sea and other islands. You won't be alone, the place attracts many tourists, photographers and hikers, so it can be useful to go very early or late in the day.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
