My adaptation of a self-portrait from cica 1545 by German Renaissance painter Ludger tom Ring the Younger (1522 - 1584).
The living room in the background is a detail from a painting by Dutch painter Abraham van Strij (1753-1826).
I combined the 2 paintings and made a 3D version of them, called a trompe-l'œil. A trompe-l'œil is a painting technique that literally 'deceives the eye'. The aim is to suggest a three-dimensional reality on a flat surface.
