This is how the poppy grows on the land. Where ever blood has flowed Where ever guns have sounded Where ever the dead have lain
The poppy is a tribute to the heroes who gave their lives for freedom. A symbol of the dreams that still live in the hearts of humanity. It is a sign of hope for the future. A future that is still possible for people. An invitation to peace. The peace that still awaits the world.
This is how the poppy blooms in the light. With courage and dignity. This is how the poppy shows her soul and her heart to all of us.
The inspiration for this picture, of course, comes from an old poem "In Flanders Fields" by John McCrae who in his poem described the landscape of the Western Front after World War I. This beautiful delicate flower was common on the graves of all the fallen soldiers who had fought for freedom. The freedom we should cherish today. And which is increasingly suppressed by the many conflicts around the world even now.
