The Railway Museum has been housed in the Maliebaan railway station, built in 1874, since 1954. A major renovation took place in 1988-'89. The interior of the station building was completely renewed and furnished according to the then modern insights. In 2002, it was decided to undertake another major renovation of the museum. After its closure in September 2003, the 1874 station building was emptied and largely restored to its nineteenth-century state. There came a large new museum building with the industrial character of a nineteenth-century railway workshop. This photo was taken at dusk on 27 June 2019. Dark Utrecht.
