Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

The Sense of Touch, Philippe Mercier (1747)

The artwork is split into two halves, featuring two pairs of lovers. On the left, a cat allows a little girl to pet it but suddenly scratches a young man, drawing blood. He tends to his finger, while the young woman beside him looks on in surprise. In contrast, the couple on the right has no such interruption. The young woman knows that the viewer is watching them kiss, and she recognizes that we know she is aware of our gaze. At either end of the mantelpiece are two Chinese vases, with a horizontally placed oval painting and a vertical landscape painting on the left, both depicting classic scenes.
