The Totem Pole is a photogenic thin pillar of rock in Navajo Tribal Park, Monument Valley, located on the border between the states of Utah and Arizona. This rock point is made of sandstone and is left over after years of erosion of the landscape. Next to this Totem Pole, we see a group of thicker rock points called the Navajo Yei Bi Chei. To see this famous formation, you have to drive the paid self-guided Valley Drive. Here we see the formation just after sunset with the pink band of Venus visible in the sky.
