About ‘The blue hour over Brussels’ by Werner Lerooy

As evening falls over Brussels, the skyline transforms into a stunning interplay of light, architecture and atmosphere. The monumental Palace of Justice dominates the panorama from Poelaert Square, whilst The View Ferris wheel adds a contemporary touch to the historic city. In between, residential neighbourhoods spread out like a warm carpet of lights, where thousands of little stories come together.

The blue hour is a brief moment when the sky still retains enough colour to keep the city’s contours visible, whilst the artificial lighting slowly illuminates the buildings. This creates a harmonious balance between day and night. The combination of monumental architecture, modern urban lighting and sprawling residential neighbourhoods makes this panorama rich in detail yet strikingly serene.

As a work of art on the wall, this image offers something new to discover every time. It radiates the energy of a capital city without becoming overwhelming, and brings a warm, elegant atmosphere to any room.
