* Dunas Maspalomas *
The dunes of Maspalomas on the island of Gran Canaria, shining golden in the sun, are always fascinating and attract thousands of vacationers every year.
The sand is composed of material from the erosion of the rocky coast on the one hand, and alluvial material transported through the Barranco de Fataga when it had a lot of water on the other hand.
Most of the sand, however, is made up of crushed shells that have been deposited by the surf, the tides and the change in sea level.
In the background you can see the lighthouse Fare de Maspalomas , which is one of the most famous landmarks of Gran Canaria. 320124ays
