About ‘The epic battle between man and nature’ by Jet van Wijk
In the arid desert of Namibia’s Deadvlei, a heroic man attempts to reach the top of the sand dune. In his struggle against both the scorching sun and the elements, he sinks ever deeper. Nature prevails over man: the summit of the dune was not reached.

I’ve been taking photographs since my early childhood, and for a long time the darkroom was my favourite place. Nowadays, the darkroom has gone digital, but my love of photography remains. Urbex (abandoned places) is my passion: places that people have left behind and which nature is reclaiming. But I also enjoy photographing city life and landscapes.
