The green reflection by Werner Lerooy

At De Rijdtmeersen, the water seems, for a moment, to forget that it is water. The surface of the pond forms a natural mirror in which trees, shrubs and the surrounding vegetation are reflected almost seamlessly. The boundary between the real landscape and its reflection blurs, creating a tranquil and almost abstract composition.

Shades of green dominate the scene, giving the whole a fresh, natural feel. The fine details of branches and leaves become softer and more fluid in the water, whilst small disturbances on the surface prevent the reflection from becoming entirely static. It is precisely this subtle imperfection that brings the scene to life.

This photograph captures nature at its most serene. No spectacular event is required: just still water, trees and the soft light of an ordinary day. The result is an image that invites you to slow down for a moment and observe your surroundings more attentively.

As a work of art on the wall, this photograph brings greenery, tranquillity and a sense of space to an interior. The natural colours are easy to coordinate, and the reflection lends the work an almost meditative quality. A simple nature scene that, through its harmony, takes on a surprisingly strong presence.
