It had been a long-awaited wish of mine to finally see the historic windmills of Kinderdijk. Now the time had come. I was on my way there and the always anxious question of a photographer: will the weather play along? But unfortunately no.... It was grey in grey, but I set off anyway, wanting to see them at least once. So I cycled along the canal, where the first mills were already standing and reminded me of the old days, to my ultimate destination, the fork in the watercourses. No atmosphere in terms of light... but I scouted out the best spots and turned back. On the way back, I was caught in a heavy downpour and arrived soaking wet. Disappointment set in... I had to carry on travelling tomorrow. But there was still one more chance: to stop by again on the way back. No sooner said than done... And this time I was lucky, I was at this beautiful spot and was rewarded with a wonderful sunset, the silhouettes of the mills against the colourful sunset and the reflections in the water. I cycled home very satisfied. Enjoy !
