This work features: a quilted blanket (museum piece) as a background, representing cubes. Metal buttons with a cube pattern (museum piece) elaborate on the woman's hairstyle (an oil painting portrait of Margareta van Eyck painted by Jan van Eyck) from 1439. The coat is also a museum piece. The frozen air bubbles are a subtle counterpart to the colourful cubes with their clean lines. The organic patterns that emerge from freezing a bubble depict the contrast between organic and inorganic. The icicles at the top of the painting and the largely cool colours emphasise the feeling of winter and cold.
